AudioCodes, a voice over IP communications provider based in Israel, created a Skype for Business appliance that provides users with connectivity to the cloud and the PSTN. The device can also help users migrate from an on-premises setup to a cloud environment.
More specifically, AudioCodes' CloudBond 365 facilitates the transition from on-premises Lync, Skype for Business Server or legacy PBX deployments to Microsoft's Cloud PBX with on-premises PSTN/SIP trunk connectivity.
Many organizations are evaluating Microsoft as they consider moving from on-premises equipment to the cloud, according to Nemertes Research President Robin Gareiss, a Best of Enterprise Connect judge. Most large organizations are not going to do a "flash cut" migration to the cloud and will maintain a hybrid environment as they transition, she added.
"It's important to have a solution to enable companies to [migrate] at the speed they want," Gareiss said. Some organizations may opt for a permanent hybrid environment to keep specific job functions on-premises. But CloudBond 365 allows organizations to have all the Skype for Business features on-premises or in the cloud to support the architecture they choose.
Enterprise Connect, a major UC conference, runs from March 7 to 10 in Orlando, Fla.
