Polycom introduced a new platform and two video management services for enterprises and technology partners. The latest offerings harness usage and call quality data to help buyers get the most out of their voice and video deployments.
IT administrators and managed services partners can use Polycom's ROI services and RealAccess platform throughout evaluation, deployment, and ongoing videoconferencing operations. Access to data and analytics around video adoption and quality can help boost video ROI.
The Polycom RealAccess services delivery platform provides access to video usage, capacity, and session quality information. Video ROI data hasn't traditionally been made available to buyers.
The platform offers several video ROI and training applications. Through the cloud-based portal, IT administrators can access Polycom's asset management app. This app provides endpoint information, including location and its current software version.
The analytics app details utilization metrics, capacity, and performance data. Administrators can use this app for resource and meeting planning purposes.
The RealAccess platform also offers a video library app with video training and how-to videos for users.
Video ROI through support services
Polycom is building upon its relationship with Microsoft by adding more support for Skype for Business, formally Lync.
Polycom introduced VVX Services for Lync. The services are aimed at enterprises using Polycom VVX business media phones in addition to Skype for Business. Customers can tap these services for network and infrastructure support. VVX Services can also help enterprises planning to add voice to their Skype for Business deployments.
The vendor also expanded its managed services arm for enterprises interested in offloading video management. The broadened tech services program now covers the Polycom RealPresence video infrastructure platform and associated endpoints.
The Polycom RealAccess services delivery platform and Polycom Managed Services are available today from the vendor and its partners. Polycom VVX Services for Lync will be available in late spring, the company said.
