Cisco's WebEx is our silver Product Leadership award winner in collaboration. When Cisco purchased WebEx two years ago for $3.2 billion, some pundits questioned Cisco's business acumen. Cisco has since built WebEx into one of the most reliable and secure global conferencing systems.

Using the Software as a Service (SaaS) model, WebEx can be accessed anywhere for a low monthly fee. With WebEx's SaaS model, subscribers do not have to invest in hardware or worry about maintenance or upgrades. WebEx has a highly scalable architecture and can support thousands of concurrent users with enterprise-grade security.

In our Product Leadership survey, more than 60% of respondents gave Cisco's WebEx four stars or more for video and voice quality. One respondent noted that WebEx was an excellent collaboration tool that helped immensely in training and conferencing requirements for his organization. Respondents also gave high marks for WebEx's end-user ease of use, as well as for ease of installation, configuration and administration. Another reader noted that his company has locations throughout the U.S., and the WebEx component allows employees in all locations to communicate and share information very well.
