2017. This year, more than 150 companies will exhibit their latest UC innovations, including video collaboration, enterprise mobility and communications platform as a service. Nearly 100 vendors are expected to announce new UC products. Here's a sampling of the announcements coming out of Enterprise Connect 2017.
Blue Jeans Networks Inc. will showcase its new video collaboration product for huddle rooms. BlueJeans Huddle combines hardware and software to turn any room into a meeting room. The system includes a camera, speakerphone and Apple iPad mini 2, as well as Blue Jeans' virtual meeting room software.
The system uses smart-sensor technology to recognize users as they walk into a room and start a video meeting without having to dial in. Users can share content wirelessly from their personal devices. The system integrates with Outlook and Google Calendar for scheduled and ad hoc meetings. BlueJeans Huddle also integrates with standards-based room systems.
Nureva Inc. will exhibit two collaboration products. The HDL300 is an audio conferencing system for small to midsize meeting rooms. The system uses an algorithm to place more than 8,000 virtual microphones around a room to capture sound from any location. The system is compatible with most other conferencing systems, including Zoom, GoToMeeting and Cisco Jabber.
Nureva's Span visual collaboration product will also be featured at the conference. The system includes a projector that can turn a conference room wall into an immersive collaboration space. The cloud-based Span software lets users create content on their personal devices and share it on the virtual canvas.
Sprint will introduce MultiLine, a service that will allow users to add a company-managed phone number to an employee's personal mobile device. The service is delivered over the top through an application, and it is device- and mobile-carrier-agnostic. Users can receive calls and text messages to their business phone number on their mobile device and maintain the privacy of their personal phone number.
Sonus Networks Inc. will feature two UC products. Sonus Cloud Link reduces Microsoft Cloud Connector Edition installation times to simplify the enterprise adoption of cloud PBX. Sonus Cloud Link's performance was verified by Miercom, an industry performance-testing firm.
Miercom determined Cloud Link scales up to 500 Skype for Business calls and mitigates denial-of-service and protocol-fuzzing attacks on private and public gateways. Cloud Link also integrates new communications technology, such as Session Initiation Protocol, with legacy systems, including time-division multiplexing and analog telephony.
Sonus will also showcase the SBC SWe Lite, which lets enterprises virtualize security and interworking for UC in the cloud.
