UC and collaboration. This year, more than 150 companies are exhibiting their UC products and services at the conference expo -- ranging from team chat applications to digital whiteboards to video collaboration. More than 70 of those exhibitors are expected to announce new UC products. Check out a sampling of the announcements coming out of this year's Enterprise Connect.
Atlassian will demonstrate HipChat Connect, its new developer platform that lets organizations bring their business apps into the HipChat team chat app. The platform allows developers to build their apps inside HipChat, or build add-ons to extend HipChat. HipChat Connect offers integrations with Zendesk, Zephyr and Facebook.
By making the APIs for HipChat available to organizations, developers can streamline workflows and improve team collaboration. The beta for HipChat Connect was announced in November 2015. It is currently available on Web browsers, Mac and Windows, and is coming to iOS, Android and Linux.
DisplayNote Technologies will unveil Montage, a wireless presentation product that allows up to 12 meeting participants to stream content to a main display in the meeting room and remotely. Montage aims to address common meeting issues that impede productivity, such as emailing content during a meeting, stopping to switch devices to share content, or crowding around a laptop to view content, said Ed Morgan, head of marketing at Northern Ireland-based DisplayNote.
Users can connect to Montage to stream content from their laptops, mobile devices and Web browsers. Montage also supports voice and video communication, annotations and real-time note sharing to facilitate collaboration during meetings, Morgan said. Montage is available as a hardware and software product.
Genband will exhibit several new UC products, including Kandy Wrappers and Smart Office clients. Kandy Wrappers is a prepackaged real-time communications app that delivers customer engagement services from any website, without needing to replace existing contact centers or phone systems.
Patrick Joggers, executive vice president of global sales and marketing at Genband, based in Plano, Texas, said Kandy Wrappers and other APIs make it easier for organizations to embed communication into their existing UC products and business processes.
Genband's Smart Office clients are a combination of WebRTC, containers and real-time services to deliver a UC client experience that's consistent across desktop and mobile devices, without the need for constant updates. The technology can also be used to integrate Genband's UC services with Skype for Business and Google Apps.
TekVizion, a third-party testing and integration services provider, will exhibit its interoperability testing and application optimization services. TekVizion's onTAP cloud-based lab service is used for development and testing, training, sales demonstrations and proof of concepts for various UC environments. Users can access a virtual testing lab through a Web portal, make changes to the environment during testing and store backups of the environment.
TekVizion will also demonstrate how its new Verification Guarantee service works. The vendor aims to guarantee that UC tools and technology tested through its services will work in a company's environment.
