What are the programming possibilities for development in VoIP?

There are many career opportunities in VoIP. According to all of the marketing data, the market for VoIP is going to increase greatly over the next few years.

Many VoIP based phones, gateways, and servers use a Linux operating system as it is much more stable than windows. Experience with Linux, and C and C++ programming will allow you to work on almost any application in VoIP. As an example, the ZIP 4x5 IP phone from Zultys Technologies:

This phone runs real time Linux on an IBM 405GPr Power PC. Our developers use C++ to create a wealth of functions for the product.
