The receiver of a call does not have to have a VoIP-enabled device to receive a call from a sender who is making a call using a VoIP-enabled device. Typically, the caller with a VoIP-enabled device has service from a VoIP service provider. These VoIP service providers can terminate calls within their VoIP network and can typically terminate calls through VoIP to PSTN gateways. This allows peoples with VoIP devices to call people on the traditional telephone network.
