We have a 3 COMM NBX 100 system. Any idea if some of the new wireless VoIP phones (e.g., Prestige 2000) would be compatible? 3 Comm is, as far as we can tell, inaccessible to phone customers (versus their partners). Our local 3Com 'partner' who installed the phones has gone out of business and we cannot find a replacement.

The NBX 100 system I believe supports H.323 call control protocol. The Prestige 2000 is a reference design SIP handset. These will not work together unfortunately. H.323 is not a very prevalent standard, but it is a standard. I believe Avaya may make some handsets and potentially others. The problem you may run into though as you query folks on the topic is most vendors add a little "special sauce" that make cross-pollination difficult. SIP or, Session Initiation Protocol, is gaining a lot of steam so if you want to future-protect yourself and start to decouple handset from PBX, I think you should consider it.
