What is the difference between "Internet Telephony" and "IP Telephony"?

People often use the two terms interchangeably. IP telephony is a more general term. It indicates that telephony features and functions are provided over an IP network. This network can be a public network, such as the Internet, or a private network. Internet Telephony indicates that telephony features and functions are provided over the public Internet.
