There are many ways that service providers can ensure security and QoS, including the implementation of a security framework such as ISO 17799 and using programs such as "Defense in Depth" to provide infrastructure protection. Segregating platform traffic for manageability and providing a fully resilient network can also ensure security. Alongside all this, a service provider will need to provide and implement the necessary processes and procedures to ensure the security of the platform. In addition, service providers should ensure they comply with relevant Data Protection Acts and take account of laws and acts related to the deployment of their platforms from a telecommunications perspective.
