Can setting up a VPN help you get around blocked VoIP ports? I travel with my VoIP box and in some hotels I find...

the VoIP ports blocked. If it is possible, how can it be done?

You can usually call tech support and have the ports unblocked, but a VPN may be a workaround. You would technically be bouncing off the PBX at the main site if you set it up that way. But you don't mention what type of phone you are using. Some people choose to reuse the same ports as an HTTP header which may be another way around it.
